Peter Spain is a local photographer of the north shore of Lake Tahoe, California. He specializes in landscape images of the eastern and north east shore of Lake Tahoe where he has become intimate with the lake from his many kayak trips along the shore; some times this affords special perspectives not seen by most people standing on the shore of the great lake. Mountain biking along the famous north east shore Flume Trail has also inspired dramatic images and provided personal insights into the emotional vastness of Lake Tahoe.
His photography has a direct result of his candid personality and influenced by his love for travel and sports. Peter Spain’s photographs appear in many regional and national magazines, editorials and covers.
Peter Spain moved up to the Sierra from the San Francisco Bay area in 1996 after graduating from San Francisco State with a double major in Fine Arts and Broadcast Communication, and has been working full time as a photographer ever since. He is also often commissioned for wedding and portrait photography.
