Ingrid Evans
Hand-made Paper with Painting and Printmaking

Ingrid Evans is renowned for her contemporary papermaking and artmaking. She is invited and participates in exhibits throughout the United States as well as in Europe. She has contributed to the art world with innovative uses of hand- made paper materials while integrating painting and printmaking techniques. Evans has taught many workshops and inspired even more artists. She has produced exceptionally large works that are marveled at by her peers as well as the public. She was born in Berlin, Germany but has lived in Reno, Nevada since 1958 and lived for a while at Incline Village, Nevada in the late 1960's. Her initial influences were the action painters and abstract expressionists. Frequently her images utilize literary references and influences of aerial photography. Evans likes to say that her influences "are those things both seen and read".
