Etchings by “Doug” Taylor
These are some of over 50 edition etchings produced from 1980 to 1987. Almost all were editions of fifty; two were editions of seventy-five. They were explorations in a variety of etching processes, techniques and methods.
The images are created on metal plates, inked and printed on high quality cotton fiber printmaking paper by the artist with an etching press. Each printing plate must be re-inked and printed individually for each print. Go to PRINTMAKING to learn more about what an “etching” is and how they are created.
These etchings were produced when living in the southwest United States, while residing in Las Vegas, Nevada and spending many summers traveling throughout the southwest and the Rocky Mountains. The influence of nature and those environments inspired many images.
A few more images will be added to this portfolio page in the near future. Many of the prints have sold-out over the years and are in collections throughout the United States.
