Wolfgang Kohz was born in Germany, where he studied business management in college, followed by eight years in practical farm management. He came to the United States to settle in 1961 and became involved in photography.
In 1964, he and his American wife worked their way across the country to Lake Tahoe. In 1966 he founded Tahoe Foto Studio, offering portraits as well as scenic and commercial work. He soon expanded into the publishing of full color post cards, catalogs, brochures, and booklets. In 1970 he published his first scenic Lake Tahoe calendar, and by 1977 that portion of his business had grown into Wolf Products, Inc. The scenic Lake Tahoe calendar is still published yearly with new photographs each year.

Tahoe Foto remains a full color publishing company for commercial clients, offering full service from start to finish, covering layout, artwork, typesetting, color separations and full color printing.
Wolf Products, Inc. has more than ten thousand photographs of the beautiful Carson Valley, Lake Tahoe, and the surrounding Sierra Nevada, as well as other regions in Nevada, California, and Arizona taken over the past thirty years. Wolfgang Kohz is known for his "back country" scenes.
Original photographs and Fotoart Prints are sold in galleries in California and Nevada and are now also available through this site
