Chaos – by Tony Spiker

Chaos is an amazing thing. No, I am not talking about the chaos that happens when you walk into your 6 year olds bedroom, but the mathematical chaos that is used to describe very complex interactions. When two fluids combine, they are goverened byrelatively simple physical equations. However, predicting the exact pattern that takes place is impossible because of the many different variables that affect the interaction. However, in these complex and unpredictable interactions, beautiful patterns emerge. This is what my latest fine art is exploring: smoke as it is rises through the air; water as it is poured into a glass; paint as it mixes. The patterns that emerge from the chaos are beautiful.
