We are excited to announce that we are moving to Kings Beach! We will be closed starting Sunday May 12th, and we will re open in time for Memorial Day weekend. We can not wait to be apart of the Kings Beach community. We will be located in between Jason’s Restaurant and Adrift Paddle, right in front of the Kings Beach State Recreation Area and the North Tahoe Event Center. With all of the Kings Beach Core Improvements happening in the next few years, this couldn’t be a better time to move!
While we will be officially closed during the move, you may still find us at either place and are more than welcome to stop by. Or, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In their Bay Room, is Tony’s “East Shore at Lake Tahoe 1.” This image is framed using Larson Juhl’s Dresden Moulding.
So, if you are looking for a great Bed and Breakfast to stay at while visiting the North Shore, make sure to check them out! The owner, Bill, designed, built and runs the Shooting Star with the help of Aimee. They will make sure to take good care of you while you are there!
The picture to the left shows the new menu board before it was installed. We used Larson Juhl custom frames and filled the entire board with 20 pounds of coffee beans!
Here you can see the menu board after it was installed at Java Hut. We used clear Acrylic so that they could easily write on the front and change up the menu as needed.
Make sure to stop by and check them out. Chesley makes a great latte and Morgan is an amazing baker. You’ll probably see us there each morning before work too!

Last year, we created a large wire sculpture scene using Sten Hoiland’s skier and ice skater. This year, we created a much smaller version using a backpacker and squirrel! We wrapped the backing board in a linen fabric and then framed the piece using Larson Juhl’s Tuscany moulding. The inspiration for these pieces can always been seen at Rubicon Pizza up at Northstar where Sten’s wire sculptures decorate the walls.
UPDATE: Due to a lack of interest, we have decided to cancel the remaining shows. If you are still interested in participating, please contact us and we will put you on an interest list for possible future shows (including ones this summer if we get enough interest).
Vista Gallery and Bella Petunia are pleased to announce that we will be hosting Tahoe Vista’s Fine Art and Crafts Outdoor Marketplace several weekends this summer in the Vista Gallery parking lot. Our first event will be held Memorial Day weekend and we will continue with several weekends throughout the summer. We are currently looking for talented artists to participate in these shows.
Please click here for the form for an application and further details on the event. We will soon be launching a dedicated website and facebook page for these events. In the meantime, you can follow Vista Gallery on Facebook for updated news and information.
The past couple of weeks we have been blessed with some great sunsets over Lake Tahoe. With the gallery being across the street from the Lake, we often run across the street to take some pictures and enjoy the view. Here are several images that Tony Spiker took from the beach!

The process of vacuum pressing is simple and there are a variety of systems available in todays market. I use a bag system as seen in the photo to the right.
A vacuum pump is attached by a hose to a closed vacuum bag containing a veneering project. First, as the vacuum is created, atmospheric pressure bears down on the work inside the bag with perfect uniformity and enormous pressure. Second, as the air is drawn out of the cells in th surface structure of the wood, it allows for deep glue penetration. This creates thin, even glue lines and an excellent bond. The results are dependable and consistent.
Below is a picture of a wine rack made using the vacuum press technology.
We recently rearranged the gallery and brought out some new images for our recent Holiday Art Show. Here is a peak at some of the artwork we have here at the gallery!
Here you can see Tony Spiker’s work along with Tom Beebe’s hand crafted wooden wine rack and keepsake box. On the right is a close-up of Tom’s keepsake box. Tom’s work is the latest addition to the gallery and we are excited to have his work here!
And finally, below you can see some of Matt Dodge’s sculpted photographs!
We have many other pieces of artwork on display here at the gallery – please stop by and take a look!
