Karen Frances

Karen Frances resides in Truckee with her husband and two daughters.  In the mist of raising a family and after ponderous self-questioning and confusion regarding a career, her yearning for creativity has enlightened her to the vocation of artist.  Besides being inspired by a creative mother when she was a child, during the last decade or so she has taken advantage of the wonderful expertise of artists, teachers, and mentors within the Tahoe, Truckee, and Reno areas.

Mainly consisting of paintings and drawing, Karen’s personal work involves a narrative format utilizing portrature and figurative work.  Contemplating life through art, she depicts her personal experiences and observations.  Her compositions incorporate symbolic surroundings with characters that convey emotions and interactions.  She loves using symbolism and metaphors as tools of communication.
