Ingrid Evans specializes contemporary papermaking and art-making. She is invited and participates in exhibits throughout the United States as well as in Europe. She is known for integrating painting and printmaking techniques with innovative uses of hand-made paper. Ingrid has taught many workshops and inspired even more artists. She has produced exceptionally large works that are marveled at by her peers as well as the public. She was born in Berlin, Germany but has lived in Reno, Nevada since 1958 and lived for a while at Incline Village, Nevada in the late 1960′s. Her initial influences were the action painters and abstract expressionists. Frequently her images utilize literary references and influences of aerial photography. Ingrid likes to say that her influences “are those things both seen and read”.
